I think I tried venturing into the psyches of what your average video game enjoyer would've thought about the final boss making a run for it - naturally they would've felt deprived of a glorious climax. As I believe I've mentioned before, the world of The Dork Dungeon is influenced mainly by video games, rather than actual fantasy. Though let's face it - that's not exactly an original take on the fantasy genre anymore, what with every isekai basically leaning on that aspect, and Toby Fox deconstructing JRPGs with his masterful game Undertale back in 2015 (I'd consider it a must play game). You can tell I have Toby Fox on the brain because the 5th chapter of Deltarune releases in a couple of days... I CAN'T WAIT!
